GENERIC
NAME : PENCICLOVIR (pen-SYE-kloe-veer)
USES:
DENAVIR is used for reoccurring herpes (cold sores or
fever blisters) in adults.
HOW
TO USE:
Use
as directed, applying a thin layer to the affected area.
Use at the first sign of tingling or swelling in the
affected area.
PRECAUTIONS:
Before using DENAVIR, tell your doctor if you have:
any allergies. DENAVIR should only be used on sores
of the lips and face. Avoid use in or near the eyes,
as irritation may occur. Tell your doctor if you are
pregnant before using this medication. It is not known
whether penciclovir is excreted into human milk after
applying it to the skin. Before breast-feeding, discuss
with your doctor.
SIDE
EFFECTS : At the site of application, mild
redness, irritation, rash, or mild numbness may occur.
If these continue or are bothersome, notify your doctor.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact
your doctor or pharmacist.
NOTES:
DO NOT SHARE THIS MEDICINE with others for whom it was
not prescribed. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for other health
conditions. KEEP THIS MEDICINE out of the reach of children.
IF USING THIS MEDICINE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME,
obtain refills before your supply runs out.
STORAGE:
Keep DENAVIR in the container it came in, tightly closed,
and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature
and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom).
Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer
needed. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal
of your medication.
